Over the course of his career, Ted Koppel was involved in a number of news special programs, documentaries, and other broadcasts, some produced through his own production company, Koppel Communications Inc., but most produced through Nightline and ABC News. Special programs in the archive include, among others: The Blessings of Liberty, a 1987 two-part special on the history of the US Constitution; episodes of the Jennings/Koppel Report, an innovative news documentary special; Nightline in Primetime: Brave New World, an eight-part mini-series exploration of modern science and technology, featuring Robert Krulwich; Nightline in Primetime: Crime and Punishment, on prison life and the criminal justice system; and the KCI-produced three-part special, 21st Century: World Without Walls, an exploration and three-day town meeting on global politics, economics, and communications held at the University of Pennsylvania and aired on PBS in 1990.
